




Red pandas, often referred to as “lesser pandas,” are not closely related to giant pandas despite the similarity in their names. While giant pandas belong to the bear family, red pandas are the only living members of the Ailuridae family. With their distinctive red fur and bushy tails, red pandas are known for their arboreal nature, spending a significant amount of time in trees. These charming creatures primarily inhabit the eastern Himalayas and southwestern China, where they feed mainly on bamboo, fruits, and occasionally insects. Despite their name, red pandas are a unique and fascinating species with their own distinctive characteristics and behaviors.
