How to write a rebuttal in OpenReview
Technical aspects
The writing system in OpenReview uses Markdown, just like in a Jupyter Notebook. This allows for easy formatting and structuring of text, as well as the inclusion of images and code snippets. Some common commands include creating headers with ‘#’ symbols, making text bold or italic with asterisks or underscores, and inserting links with square brackets and parentheses.
You can use the “Official Comment” button to submit your rebuttal, but it is important to note that for some conferences, the reviewers are not obligated to read anything other than the rebuttals entered through the designated channels, such as “Global_Author_Rebuttal” or “Author_Rebuttal.”
Also, the rebuttal is editable. So, I suggest submitting the rebuttal before the deadline to avoid issues.
Anomynous github
OpenReview allow you to upload supplementary materials with a max limit of 100 MB. You can also use Anomynous github to upload revised manuscript or codes without revealing author identities.
Requesting a re-evaluation of the paper’s rating
It’s essential to approach the reviewer respectfully and professionally when requesting a re-evaluation of the paper’s rating. Consider expressing gratitude for the feedback received initially, acknowledging the points raised, and highlighting the specific improvements made in the revised version. Emphasizing the additional data, updated references, or refined analysis can help convey the enhanced quality of the manuscript. By demonstrating the dedication to enhancing the paper and addressing previous concerns, it’s more likely to persuade the reviewer to re-evaluate the rating. Remember to maintain a constructive tone throughout the request, aiming to showcase the commitment to scholarly rigor and excellence.
